Soldier is a big powerful retired ranch horse. Solider is only 14 and had to be retired from ranching due to an injury that happened while he was playing in the pasture. He was donated to Hope thru Hooves by his loving owners, with the hope that he would have lots of human interaction and most of all love. He can no longer be ridden, but he makes his presence known. Soldier is proof that sometimes our true purpose in life isn’t always what we start out to be. He began as an amazing ranch horse and great friend to his human family, but injury took him out of the only way of life he had ever known. His family loved him too much to just let that be the end of his story. Soldier is now a phenomenal therapy horse. Teen boys have learned great life lessons and struggling families have found common ground with Soldier as part of their herd at Hope thru Hooves.
